Jen Bardell is a British painter based on the Isle of Tiree. Her work grows out of living close to the Atlantic and watching familiar views change with the light and weather.

Mull’s distant mountains recur in her paintings, a small presence beneath an enormous sky. She is drawn to the changing relationship between sea and sky: water that seems to carry its own light, islands becoming silhouettes, distant land almost disappearing into the atmosphere. Working primarily in oils, she uses subtle transitions of colour and island horizons to give a sense of the space she lives with.

Jen has worked professionally for over eighteen years, exhibiting through galleries nationally and internationally. Her paintings are held in private collections across the UK and abroad.
